Happy Birthday Lyz!!

Well, her birthday was actually yesterday, but I didn't see her then, and I don't think I wished her Happy Birthday enough yesterday!!

This morning Jenn, Lyz and Elissa did Garage Sale part two. They didn't do nearly as well, but they had fun, and Jenn has the sunburn to prove it.

This evening we joined Lyz, Chris, Avery and Joni-Mom for dinner. After a comedy of errors we finally got seated and had a great meal (except for Jenn's shared salad...ick) After that (and even though our bellies were way too full) we stopped at Sonic for yummy drinks! Who might we find there--you guessed it Lyz, Chris, Avery and Joni-Mom!!

Then, after I had crawled my buns into bed Lyz calls. Chris had found a small bald spot on the back of his head and was shaving it completely. We are very upset that we don't live closer to them, we totally would have driven over to watch the fun. For your viewing pleasure--the results:

He's such a cutie.

And poor Lyz, here it's her birthday post and I don't include a picture of her!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On a semi-related note, the what might have beens hit me again today, and Lyz, you are to stop reading here, if you don't, know that I love the fact that you are pregnant, it gives me hope...and hope guides me.
When pregnant with Blue I had of course thought ahead..knowing I would be close to due when Lyz's birthday came along. I remember worrying that I'd steal her thunder and go into labor on her birthday, and how bad I would feel if that happened. It put me in an odd mood tonight, and when a couple of things went wrong, I about lost it. It's bad enough that Jenn has to deal with my meltdowns, thankfully I kept this one deeeeep inside, so it wouldn't boil over. I only had a small hissy fit, and I think even Lyz could see it coming, no one needs to see what happens during a meltdown. I'm very proud of myself for squashing the meltdown monster, I may have stolen Lyz's thunder for a totally different reason!
I'm glad you had fun and (narrowly) averted a meltdown. :)
I do NOT understand why men think they look better totally bald than with a little bald spot. Not in MY opinion. I'm not a big fan of the Mr Clean/Kojak look.
Poor guy, I can't imagine dealing with hair loss..how that might affect their self esteem. I do think that bald guys are kinda sexy though..but naturally bald..nto the shaved bald kind. Happy B day to your friend. I'm sorry about the almost melt down. I would think that you have quite a few more coming..and i'm sorry for that. It's better to get it out than to keep it in though.
I have been practicing Mario Kart..get ready.
If she truly loves you, she'd understand even if you had a huge meltdown on her birthday.
Chris ought to transfer his chest hair to his head? Naaa......he'd look like he has pubic hair on his head.....yuk!
I much prefer men who are going bald to shave their head. A uni friend stands to win £250 as he bet he'd make through university without shaving his head to hide the receding bits. Well he's done it, but he'll look so much better when he does it!
I think the marking of time is always hard-- it is so hard not to imagine where we should have been and to feel the lack all the more. I'm thinking of both of you and sending my love.
